Sometimes a book added to your library may display the wrong number of pages.
This can happen because page count data comes from external databases, which are not always accurate. Book Tracker gives you tools to correct this issue, but how you fix it depends on whether the book is already being read, has been read, or has not been started yet.
If the book has never been read
- Open the book detail page.
- Tap Edit.
- Update the page count field with the correct number.
- Save your changes.
From now on, every new Reading Status you create for this book will use the updated page count.
If you are currently reading the book
- Open the book detail page.
- Tap Edit.
- Update the page count with the correct value.
- When saving, the app will ask if you want to update your current Reading Status as well.
- Confirm to keep your progress in sync with the corrected page count.
This way, your existing progress and statistics will stay accurate.
If the book is already marked as Read
If the book has been finished and you notice the page count is wrong, the Reading Status cannot be edited directly.
- Delete the existing Reading Status.
- Create a new Reading Status with the correct page count.
This ensures that statistics reflect the true length of the book.
Best practices
- Always verify the page count when adding a book, especially if you’re planning to track progress by pages or percentage.
- For audiobooks, double-check the total duration in HH:mm format.
- If you catch an error after starting, correct it immediately to avoid skewed statistics.
- If the book was already marked as Read, it’s better to recreate the Reading Status than leave inaccurate data in your stats.
✅ By correcting page counts promptly, you’ll ensure your reading progress, challenges, and statistics remain accurate in Book Tracker.
