Migrating to Book Tracker

Book Tracker imports your library from ten other apps and from any CSV file. Export the file from your old app, choose it in Book Tracker, and Book Tracker works out which app it came from.

How it works

  1. Export your library from your old app. The guides below show how for each app.
  2. In Book Tracker, go to Settings → Import and tap Choose File.
  3. Under Exported from, Book Tracker shows the app it recognized. If it’s wrong, tap it and pick the right one.
  4. Tap Continue, then Review, and check the list. Each row says what will happen to that book, including the books you already have.
  5. Tap the Import button, which shows how many books are coming in (for example, Import 312 books). Book Tracker backs up your library before it adds anything.

You can see the whole import, book by book, before you buy anything. Adding the books to your library requires Book Tracker Pro.

Migration guides

Book Tracker also recognizes files from Scanolino and ClassBook. Export a CSV file from either app and choose it: no extra steps.

Coming from another app

If your app isn’t listed, export your library as a CSV file and choose it anyway. Book Tracker can’t recognize it, so it asks which app it came from: pick Another App.

You’ll see the things a book can have, grouped into The Book, Your Reading, and Your Copy. Book Tracker matches your columns by their names and shows an example from your file under each one. Check them, fix what’s wrong, and continue. The only thing you must match is the title.

If your file isn’t recognized

Some apps write their column names in the language the app is set to. If Book Tracker doesn’t recognize a file from an app in the list above, pick that app anyway: Book Tracker tells you to switch the app to English and export again, and links to its guide.
