If you notice that some days appear empty in your reading statistics, even though you logged progress, the issue is usually related to time zones.
Why this happens
- When you log progress in Book Tracker, the app saves the date and time according to your current time zone.
- If you travel to a country with a different time zone, the same reading session may appear as belonging to a different day.
- This can make it look like some entries are missing, even though they are still stored in your library.
Example
- You log progress in London (GMT) at 00:30 AM on March 1st.
- Book Tracker saves the entry with your local time: March 1st, 00:30 GMT.
- If you later open the app in New York (EST), that same timestamp corresponds to February 28th, 7:30 PM EST.
- As a result, the entry will appear under February 28th in your daily statistics instead of March 1st.
Will I lose my data?
No, your reading progress is safe.
When you return to your original time zone, all progress will display under the correct days automatically.
Best practices
- Don’t worry if you see gaps while traveling, it’s only a matter of time zone differences.
- To verify, you can open the Reading Status detail page of a book: all progress entries are listed with their exact timestamps.
- If you want consistency while traveling, you can manually adjust the date when logging progress.
✅ Book Tracker never deletes progress entries. Time zone differences may shift the display by a day, but your logs remain intact and will align correctly once you return to your home time zone.
