How to use Bulk Edit in Book Tracker

Bulk Edit allows you to update multiple books in your library at the same time.

This is especially useful if you’ve just imported a large collection or want to make consistent changes across many books (e.g., add a tag, change format, update location).

How to access Bulk Edit

  1. Open Book Tracker.
  2. From the Library (or any list of books), tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Select Books.
  4. Tap the books you want to edit to mark them.
  5. Once selected, tap the three-dot button in the bottom-right corner to open the Bulk Edit options.

Bulk Edit options

You can Assign or Replace different fields like:

  • Series → add selected books to a series.
  • Tags → apply one or more tags.
  • Authors → apply one or more authors.
  • Position → set Location, Bookcase, or Shelf.
  • Format → update to Paperback, Hardcover, eBook, Audiobook, etc.
  • Reading Status → mark as To Read, Reading, Read, or Abandoned.
  • Delete → remove all selected books at once.

⚠️ Bulk Edit is designed for group changes. You cannot edit unique fields like title or description in bulk.

Best practices

  • Use Bulk Edit right after importing to quickly categorize your books.
  • The Replace option overwrites existing data (e.g., tags or positions), while Assign adds without removing what’s already there — choose carefully.
  • Always review your selections before applying changes.

✅ Bulk Edit helps you organize large libraries quickly and consistently, saving you time and effort.
