How to view and understand your reading statistics

The Statistics section in Book Tracker gives you a detailed overview of your reading habits.

From books finished to pages read, from audiobook listening time to money spent, you can explore how your reading evolves day by day, month by month, and year by year.

You can also open the statistics of a single book to see detailed progress and predictions.

How to access Statistics

  • On iPhone: tap Statistics from the home screen.
  • On iPad and Mac: select Statistics from the sidebar.
  • You can switch between years to review your reading history.

What Statistics show

General overview

  • Books read in the selected year, with progress compared to your Reading Challenge (if active).
  • Total pages read.
  • Total audiobook listening time.
  • Total reading time (from the reading timer).
  • Books purchased and money spent on purchases.

Daily and monthly breakdowns

  • Calendar view → shows which books were finished on each day.
  • Pages read per day → bar chart of your daily page count.
  • Audiobook listening per day → bar chart of listening sessions.
  • Pages read per month → monthly chart.
  • Audiobooks listened per month → monthly chart.
  • Books read per month → bar chart; tap on a bar to see which books were finished that month.
  • Audiobooks listened per month → bar chart; tap on a bar to see the finished audiobooks.
  • Books purchased per month → bar chart showing acquisitions.

Streaks

  • Reading streaks → a heat map showing on which days you read.
  • Listening streaks → a heat map showing on which days you listened to audiobooks.

Comparisons

The app compares your activity across time periods:

  • Pages read today vs. yesterday, this week vs. last week, this month vs. last month, this year vs. last year.
  • Audiobook listening time with the same comparisons.
  • Reading time with the same comparisons.

Breakdown by authors and genres

View your most read authors and most read genres to better understand your reading preferences.

Statistics for individual books

When you open the Reading Status of a book, you’ll also find:

  • progress chart showing how many pages you read each day.
  • summary of your reading pace, including:
    • Average reading speed (if you use the timer).
    • Estimated completion time based on your current pace.This helps you understand not just how far you’ve come, but also how long it will take to finish the book if you keep your current rhythm.

Widgets

Book Tracker includes statistics widgets for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

You can place them on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or desktop to quickly check:

  • Your yearly Reading Challenge progress.
  • Number of books read.
  • Reading time or audiobook listening time.
