Book Tracker can import your existing library from many other apps. Whether you’re coming from a popular tracker like Goodreads or StoryGraph, a Mac-only catalog like Delicious Library 3, or any spreadsheet-based collection, you have a path in.
For every supported app listed below, Book Tracker provides a dedicated import format. You just export the library file from your source app and pick the matching format in Book Tracker. The columns are mapped automatically, no manual work needed.
If your app isn’t on the list, you can still import its data: export a CSV from it and select Other as the import format in Book Tracker. You’ll see a field-mapping screen where you can match each column to a Book Tracker field manually.

How to start an import
- Export the library file from your source app. If a dedicated guide is available (Goodreads, Bookpedia, Delicious Library 3), follow it. The export needs to be done in a specific way to be compatible with Book Tracker.
- Open Book Tracker on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
- Go to Settings → Import.
- Select the import format that matches your source app from the list. If your app isn’t listed by name, select Other.
- Select the file you exported in step 1.
- If you chose Other, confirm the column mapping. For all other formats, the columns are mapped automatically.
- Start the import.

What gets imported
Most imports include:
- Title, author, publisher, language
- Format (paperback, hardcover, ebook, audiobook, etc.)
- Reading status and reading dates
- Rating
- Tags / shelves (mapped to Book Tracker tags)
- Purchase date and price (when available)
- Notes (when available)
Covers are downloaded automatically when the CSV contains an ISBN or an image URL. If covers are missing after import, see Why are some covers missing after import?
What does not transfer
- Reading progress entries day-by-day (only the current status and completion date)
- Social / community data (friends, comments, reviews on other users’ books)
Before you import
We recommend:
- Back up your current Book Tracker library first (How to back up your library).
- Make sure the source file is the most recent export from the other app.
- If your source app exports several files (Goodreads gives a
goodreads_library_export.csv, for example), use only the main library export.
